Pam MacKellar has written successful proposals for government and foundation grants, including a 3-year $329,000 grant from the US Department of Education which funded NO Walls, a model demonstration community technology center in Albuquerque, NM. NO Walls trained and supported people with disabilities, their families, service providers, teachers and advocates to use computer technology to access information which helped them to improve their quality of life. She has over 25 years of experience as a librarian in all kinds of libraries and as a library consultant with public, tribal and special libraries.
Pam has presented numerous workshops for librarians on “Technology Planning”, “Writing Grants for Technology Projects”, and "Grants for Libraries", including preconference sessions at Computers in Libraries and Internet Librarian conferences. She co-hosts Library Grants, a blog that provides a free resource for finding library grant and award opportunities. Her first book, Grants for Libraries: A How-To-Do It Manual, was published by Neal Shuman Publishers in 2006. Her latest book, The Accidental Librarian, was published by Information Today, Inc. in 2008. Currently she is working on Winning Grants: A Multimedia How-To-Do-It Manual for Librarians, scheduled to be published by Neal-Schuman in 2010.
